Rhythmic study of "Eleven wives" by Avishai Cohen
The fisrt time i heard "Eleven wives", i thought the beginning was in 7, with the usual long-long-long-short clave.(2+2+2+1).In fact the subdivision was 3+3+3+2 which add up to eleven.
The tricky part is that the left hand of the piano plays two 11/8 cells while the right hand is in 11/4.(5+6/4)
You may want to try to play the Hi-hat with the R.H. and the Kick drum with the L.H.
Once you manage to do that, you can practice the actual rythm that is played by the R.H. of the piano.
Now, you're ready to play it on the piano!
The pdf's included are meant to practice. The actual drums part is more elaborate and the pianist(Shaï Maestro) plays variations on the pattern.
